Accelerated Reading

For those wishing to “shelf surf,” yellow labels have been put on most of the spines of books which are on the A.R. list, and Ms. Jeannie is in the process of writing the book reading level and the point value on the inside cover to keep from having to look it up on the list. All Accelerated Reader books now also have the annotation “AR” in the call number in the computer catalog…for example, JF Col (AR). Patrons can access the computer catalog from home at www.cmclibraries.org. Over 400 of the Accelerated Reader books are also on audio, and have been included in the list so a student can listen to the words as they follow along in the book.

Miss Jeannie states, “Being a parent trying to help my children attain their required A.R. points has, in times past, been frustrating. As most parents, I wanted to help them achieve their goals any way I could. Hopefully these tools will assist others and make life a little easier.”
