Accellerated Reader

It took over six months to compile, but the new Accelerated Reader Lists at the Rutherford County Library will make searching for school books a lot easier. Jeannie Smith, the Children’s Librarian, has taken a list of all titles in the Juvenile, Young Adult, Adult Biographies, and all Adult Fiction sections and cross-referenced it with the Renaissance Learning’s website, From there, Ms. Jeannie (as she is known to the children) compiled a new list of 11,000 selections available in the Rutherford County Library, detailing title, author, reading level, and point value. This list has been arranged in two different binders in the Children’s Room. Both have the same titles included, but are arranged differently. One is by Reading Level to find books if only the range is known. The other is by author’s last name to find it easier on the shelf. Both will be updated annually.
