Cheap Ebook Reader

I went and checked out the MiGEAR ebook reader today at Big W. Nice size, good to look at, the buttons work well. The only problem (which was major) was the instruction manual stated there was a 1 year warranty – however neither the manual or the box the reader came in provided the company's name/address/email. The MiGEAR doesn't seem to exist on the internet (except for the Big W catalogue). So if the MiGEAR breaks there is no way to get it replaced or repaired. Big W itself only offers a 21 day replacement/refund for any problems.
I also tried the GHT ereader at JB. It was skipping around weirdly, opening one file and refusing to open the others. And the only other ebook readers I could find (between $200 to $350) were too small and had slow page refresh rates.
