The Ebook Reader

I've been thinking about getting an ebook reader to read my scientific papers on, instead of printing them out like I do know (I'll probably save half a forest every year).

I figure now's the time to get one, seeing as the release of the ipad is forcing ebook down in price.

I was wondering if anyone has some experience with using ebook readers for this purpose. My main concern is the display of images - I've heard rumors that some ebook readers do not in PDF, or do so poorly.

I was hoping someone has used a read for this purpose, and could comment on how good/bad their reader is for scientific papers.
