Welcome parents and students to Humphries Elementary School ESOL Department. Hi my name is Dr. Latonya Pitts. I am the ESOL teacher here at Humphries Elementary School. I joined this winning team over 5 years ago. The goal of the English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) curriculum is to enable the English Language Learner (ELL) develop the language skills needed to achieve academically, participate successfully in the school and classroom setting, while adjusting socially to the new culture. In addition to assisting ELLs in gaining proficiency in the English Language, we provide ongoing academic teacher/Parent support for our ESOL population. Feel free to inquire about programming, assessment, placement and scheduling.
