Learn To Speak Spanish
Recently retired from a professional life in teaching, Angela maintains the same love of all things Spanish that she acquired on her first exchange trip to Spain, aged 15. A gap year spent working in Spain and living with the same host family set the course for her adult life. Her degree in Spanish from the University of Birmingham included a year at the University of Barcelona and was followed by a PhD on Quechua at the University of St Andrews: (https://research-repository.st-andrews.ac.uk/handle/10023/529). This enabled a much longed-for research trip to South America which was spent in Peru and Ecuador.
Teacher training led to a diverse teaching career: adult education, tutoring, secondary and further education, teaching and training primary school teachers to teach Spanish. Angela has also delivered courses and lectures on aspects of Spanish history and civilization, and organized study trips to several cities in Spain. She regularly travels in Spain and Latin America to visit friends and explore the local culture.
Angela has also collaborated with Juan Kattán-Ibarra on Spanish Grammar in Context and worked on the second edition of Essential Spanish Grammar.
